Pit Stop Performance only sells genuine APE manual cam chain tensioners as our customers deserve only the best. All or our manual cam chain tensioners were manufactured by APE in the US. They are not some cheap knockoffs or copies manufactured by someone copying the APE design.
APE manual cam chain tensioners are designed to replace the automatic and hydraulic tensioners on high performance engines. The automatic tensioners can back out when the throttle is closed suddenly at high rpm. This allows the cams to go momentarily out of time, and can result in bent valves and/or serious engine damage. Hydraulic tensioners have a tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/high oil pressure conditions, resulting in premature wear.
Both problems can be eliminated with the installation of the APE manual tensioner. No matter what the engine does, the cam chain tension will remain constant. An APE manual cam chain tensioner is a must for any kind of performance riding whether it is street, drag strip, road track or offroad.
APE manual tensioners are CNC machined from billet alloy to exact tolerances for perfect fit.
If your new cam chain tensioner does not arrive in a heat shrink package with the APE logo prominently displayed, then you are not getting the real thing, just a cheap knockoff.
APE introduces the Pro Series manual cam chain tensioner.
This new tensioner is designed for the racer who frequently adjusts his engine.
The easy-access socket head adjuster screw is perfect for tight spaces.
The interior o’ring design ensures that repeated adjustments will not eventually flatten the o’ring against a jam nut.
APE'S Pro Series tensioner features an internal o’ring and custom-machined adjuster bolt.
The bolt is broached with a 4mm hex.
Most Pro Series tensioners come with mounting bolts and gasket (or o’ring, where applicable.)
