Secondary cable when applicable: Correct Hypalon insulated original fusible link cable and correct printing legend with the original factory color and gauge size generally missing from any aftermarket or original cables damaged or modified over many years. The fusible link secondary cable protects the entire electrical system as designed in your truck against catastrophic shorts in the main battery distribution, charging or starting system against fire and electrical shorts. The cable is new old stock used in all of our factory production battery cables for the primary fusing system.
Main battery cable: Cable is upgraded to the high performance high temperature rated cross linked polyethylene type SGX and STX insulation (depending on the specific cable part number) rated at 125° Celsius and capable of withstanding fuels, oils, brake fluids or any other chemical fluids such as Anti-Freeze. This high performance cable can even withstand contact for short periods with the exhaust system with no damage to the insultation.
Ring Terminals: All terminals used are heavy duty .062” thick OEM full hard brass ring terminals crimped and dip soldered identical to the original terminal crimp and soldered to OEM specifications. All terminals are pre-bent as indicated on original OEM engineering drawings when applicable. All solder applied is lead free environmentally clean material.
100% of the battery cables are made in the USA to the factory specifications originally installed at the assembly plant. These are not service parts instead reproductions of the original OEM cables.
Molded side post ends are upgraded from the original PVC low temperature 85° Celsius relatively low chemical resistant molding compounds that generally hardened with age and exposure to electrolyte chemicals in the battery and engine compartment oils / fuels. We upgraded the molding compound to a high performance material called Santoprene which withstands 125° Celsius, will not harden with age or exhibit damage with exposure to chemicals normally present in the engine compartment and battery.
Any original identifying marks such as hot foil stampings, Autolooms, hog rings and other OEM details originally supplied on the OEM cables are duplicated with great care to reproduce these battery cables
