- One (1) starter-size plant with a 4-inch-diameter root ball. The plant will be a minimum of about 6 to 8 inches tall and not have bloom on arrival. Guaranteed to arrive in healthy condition. No extended long term warranty.
- Elephant Ear is an old very popular, heirloom Tropical Hibiscus hybrid that has been a Collectors' favorite for several decades. It has a many desireable traits; it grows well on its' own root and does not require grafting.
- The flowers are large, dense doubles with a twisted center crest in creamy white and pale pastel pink. The pink blush becomes more pronounced in cool weather.
- The bush has an upright growing habit. Branches are clad in large, dark green, serrated, pointed oval leaves. Average mature height planted in ground is about 3 feet. Elephant ear can be grown in the ground in a tropical landscape with good care, but likely best as' a potted plant.
- The Hibiscus rosa senisis species are Tropical Plants recommended for USDA Zones 9, 10, 11 (Cold protection is ecommended all Zones for the best year round appearance, earliest bloom, and longest life. Hibiscus are frequently grown outside of their recommended Zone Range and over wintered indoors. However, they need high light and warm temperatures, so special accommodations, such supplemental lighting are often needed for successful overwintering.
- Product is live plant sold for ornamental use only. Not subject to California Proposition 65 Warning Label Requirements. Incidental components such as potting media and packaging are labeled on the package as may be required when sent to California.
