As with all heat engines, the general cycle consists of compacting cold gas, heating the gas, relaxing the hot gas and finally cooling the gas before the cycle is repeated.
- Lubrication: This is traditionally known as an external combustion engine, unlike an internal combustion engine, where the heat is supplied by the combustion of a fuel in the body of the working fluid. Only use pencil powder to lubricate this Stirling motor if necessary.
