What types of tie rods are there?
Luggage tie rods are roughly divided into built-in tie rods and horizontal tie rods (i.e. external tie rods) according to different installation locations.
What is the difference between built-in tie rods and horizontal tie rods?
Built-in tie rod: fixed with the base, make sure the screw holes on the base are consistent with the holes on the bottom of the original bag.
Horizontal bar tie rod: Use horizontal bar to fix it. Make sure that the screw hole position of the horizontal bar is consistent with the hole position on the back of the original bag.
Three important parameters when purchasing built-in tie rods:
Upper cover width
If the upper cover width and mounting hole positions are consistent with the original upper cover, the new upper cover can be installed directly.
If the width of the upper cover is the same, but the installation hole position is different from the original upper cover, as long as the new upper cover can cover the installation position of the original upper cover, you can re-drill holes in the box for installation. (If you don’t want to drill new holes in the box, you can directly keep the original upper cover and install it on the new tie rod)
Tie rod fixed length. (i.e. the same as the net height of the suitcase (excluding wheels))
Confirm the mounting hole positions of the upper and lower covers of the tie rod.
Precautions:
1. Before purchasing, please determine the type of trolley suitable for the bag.
2. Compare the size of the holes and compare the distribution of the holes. (If the hole positions are inconsistent for installation, you need to drill holes on the base of the tie rod to fit the bag. If you do not want to drill holes, you must ensure that the hole positions are consistent)
3. Determine the fixed length of the tie rod that needs to be replaced (the net height of the suitcase does not include the wheels).
4. Only after the size is confirmed can a perfect replacement be ensured.
