The La Saponaria Semplice Macchia product line is developed with the needs of all skin types in mind - in particular, sensitive skin as well as skin that is prone to reactions. The formulas are kept simple, unscented and highly concentrated, and can be diluted or adjusted to your individual needs without losing out on their effectiveness. Thus, you can create optimum skincare product that matches your specific needs.
The individual hydrosols that stem from wild harvest in Sardinia form the basis of each product and possess a delicate fragrance. The formulas do not contain fragrances, essential oils or benzoate.
Semplice Macchia products are:

Dilution & Adjusting Cosmetics to Personal Needs:
- Place 2 - 5 ml of shampoo, shower gel or intimate gel on a 20 ml measuring spoon.
- Add up to 15 ml of water or hydrosol and mix well.
- Add 1 - 5 ml of elixir and/or extract and/or plant oil.
- Add 1 - 2 drops of essential oil or fragrance blend if desired.
- Apply the solution directly to the hair or skin and cleanse as usual.
- If the DIY mixture has a very rich composition, it is recommended to leave on for at least 1 minute.
Instructions:
Note: Steps 5 & 6 are optional and can be omitted if desired.
1. Selection
- Select the product that you would like to customise to your needs as well as all the ingredients needed (such as essential oils, elixirs, hydrosols, extracts, etc.).
2. You will need:
- The base product
- An empty container (50 ml each)
- A measuring spoons (0.5 ml, 1 ml, 10 ml & 20 ml)
3. Cleaning the Utensils:
- Clean all the utensils and containers being used with hot water and soap.
4. Dilution:
- It is advised to only dilute the product needed as not to influence the longevity of the remaining ingredients.
- Recommended maximum quantity: Place 20 ml of shampoo, shower gel or intimate wash with the help of the 20 ml measuring spoon in the empty container (50 ml capacity). Add 20 ml of water or hydrosol and carefully mix together.
- Medium dilution: mix 25 ml of product with 15 ml of water.
- Light dilution: mix 30 ml of product with 10 ml of water.
- It is important to note that a sufficient amount of space should be left in the container. Test the consistency to ensure it matches your requirements.
5. Customisation
- Add the selected extracts, elixir, oils, etc. to the diluted product with the help of the 10 ml and smaller measuring spoons (0.5 ml and 1 ml). A maximum of 10 ml can be added. Mix gently but well.
- If you prefer not to dilute the product simply place 40 ml of product in the empty container and proceed with the customisation of the product.
6. Scenting
- Add between 5 and 20 drops of essential oil to 50 ml of product (diluted or undiluted).
- Use essential oils with caution - these are highly concentrated, effective and safe to use but heighten the risk of potential allergic reactions.
Recipes:
- When creating a hair mask, follow the instructions above but omit step 4.
- Add approximately 25 - 40 ml of hair mask to an empty bottle or jar (capacity 50 ml) and add the selected active ingredients such as an elixir, essential oil, extract or hydrosol).
Examples:
After thoroughly cleaning the containers and utensils mix:
- 30 ml of hair mask
- 5 ml of avocado oil
- 10 ml of restructuring & nourishing elixir
- 5 ml of lavender water
Mix all the ingredients well with the help of a small measuring spoon.
