- TERM Flashing | Termite Barrier is applied where the horizontal concrete slab intersects with exterior sheathing. This area is a frequent entry point for termites that have come up on the outside of the foundation wall.
- Acts as a non-chemical barrier to all insects when properly constructed as part of the building envelope. Also acts as a barrier to water and energy leaks.
- 4", 6", and 9" are available for flashing windows, doors, and seams. 12" and 18" rolls are available for sheathing to concrete slab areas.
- Required overlap: 2” minimum overlap on straight seams, recommend 4”overlap changing planes and building materials.
- Polyguard's TERM Barrier System products are part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and are manufactured in the USA.
- The sealant in the roll is formulated from polymer asphalt. It is a strong, pliable, self-adhesive sheet consisting of a 4 mil high-density polyethylene film bonded to 36 mils of sealant.
- Designed for low-temperature application down to 30°F (-1°C) with 30 days maximum exposure limit to UV.
- A primer or liquid adhesive is required to be rolled or brushed onto the substrate surface. Allow it to tack (approximately 10 minutes depending upon humidity) before installing the flashing. Roofing mastics are acceptable.
- It is recommended to provide a termination (caulking or compatible sealant or mastic) to the top of the flashing. This provides a shingled effect to block moisture or water runoff.
- Provides a gasket-style protection from air and moisture when mechanical fasteners are driven through the flashing and properly seated.

TERM Flashing Moisture|Termite Barrier is a “peel and stick” supplemental non-chemical termite barrier. It is installed at the intersection of the exterior sheathing and the concrete slab. It blocks entry of subterranean termites at this common entry point. It also acts as a barrier to moisture and energy leaks. TERM Flashing Moisture|Termite Barrier is recommended to be used in combination with TERM Sill Barrier for maximum protection. The sealant in TERM Flashing Moisture|Termite Barrier is formulated from polymer asphalt which has been upgraded to incorporate a non-chemical termite and insect barrier. The sealant is laminated to a high strength and puncture resistant polyethylene backing, with a peel-off release liner for easier application. All rolls are 75’ long and 0.40” thick. Each roll of TERM Flashing Moisture|Termite Barrier covers about 75’ of building perimeter. You should add at least 5% for overlaps and waste. 4", 6", and 9" are available for flashing windows, doors, and seams. 12" and 18" rolls are available for sheathing to concrete slab areas.
