- Johnson high-performance universal pump impellers are raw water resistant and compact. - For general raw or fresh water applications, the standard durable neoprene rubber wheel is used. A general feature of all pumps with flexible impeller is that they must not run dry for more than 30 seconds. Both the impeller and the seals depend on water for lubrication and will soon fail when dry running
- Suction height up to a maximum of 3 metres. Impeller operating temperature minimum: 5 °C / 41 °F, maximum: 55 °C / 131 °F
- The main advantage of a flexible impeller pump is its self-absorption. When the blades of the impeller depressed and bounce back, they create their own vacuum that sucks liquid into the pump. A dry Johnson pump can lift water up to 3 metres. Thus, a flexible impeller pump used for engine cooling does not need to be arranged below the water line or manually sucked in
