Mit regelmäßigen Massagen wird der Damm optimal auf die Geburt vorbereitet. Ab der 35. Schwangerschaftswoche sollte die sensible Körperregion täglich massiert werden. Dazu wird der Daumen mit ausreichend Damm Massageöl benetzt, damit er gut über die Haut gleitet und die Massage keine Schmerzen verursacht.
Die Daumenspitzen wird in die Vagina eingeführt und der innere und äußere Dammbereich massiert. Zusätzlich wird der Damm mit dem Daumen nach unten und außen gedehnt. Nach der Massage können Ölreste im Dammbereich mit warmem Wasser abgewaschen werden.
